Some sorely needed Wii game titles
Currently, the Nintendo Wii is the world's bestselling gaming console. Its sales outnumber the sales of both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 combined. Gamers (hardcore and casuals alike) have embraced the Nintendo Wii, what with the new game play experience it provides.
Already, there are a multitude of Nintendo Wii games that are already available in the market. Nintendo originals like Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, Paper Mario, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and various iterations of Pokemon are among the top-selling games in sales charts all over the world. Nintendo Wii games which are ports from other systems are also making some big waves, like Dead Rising.
But gamers want more Nintendo Wii games, being the insatiable lot that they are.
Specifically, gamers are demanding these 5 Nintendo Wii games that will give them countless hours of absolute joy:
1. A new Mario RPG. Paper Mario was fantastic! But it was a very short game and avid gamers have since asked for more. A sequel would be nice, though a Mario RPG that will revisit the world created by the Square-Nintendo collaboration way back in the SNES days would be amazing.
2. A new Zelda. The Nintendo DS is about to receive its second Zelda title in the form of the soon-to-be-released the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Links. Of all the Nintendo Wii games currently available, on one bears the mark of the tri-force, the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Considering that the title is one of a handful of Nintendo Wii games during the systems launch only reinforces the fact that it's been a long time since Nintendo's blockbuster of a console hosted a Zelda game.
3. Sports games, anyone? This is the consoles biggest weakness when it comes to software: the lack of Nintendo Wii games focused on professional sports. Wii Sports is cool but it's not what hardcore sports fans want. EA games brings original versions of their franchises like the NBA Live series and the Tiger Woods series, but making a shooting motion with the Wiimote or holding the same like it's a golf club just doesn't cut it. Diehard sports fans want simulation titles like what the Xbox 360 and PS3 gets. Give us a straight up sports game, Nintendo!
4. A Resident Evil game. The Gamecube was the exclusive home of the Resident Evil franchise for a while. It hosted the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 4 as well as the stylish Resident Evil remake. Nintendo fans are disappointed, however, that the only Resident Evil in the current library of Nintendo Wii games is a rail shooter. Nintendo Wii gamers want a traditional Resident Evil game, not a House of the Dead wannabe.
5. A new Mario platformer. Whenever a new Mario platform game is released, the world celebrates as if there's a grand occasion. It's been almost 2 years since Super Mario Galaxy was released. Nintendo Wii games need a boost with the addition of a new Mario platformer.
